The Northern Hemisphere refers to the half of the planet that is north of the equator, while the Southern Hemisphere is all of the planet south of the equator. Some continents run through both hemispheres, although all of Europe and North America are in the Northern Hemisphere. The Southern Hemisphere includes most of South America, one-third of Africa, all of Antarctica, a small sliver of Asia (parts of Indonesia) and all of Australia/Oceania.. There are exceptions as some continents (and their countries) based on the straight-line divisions of the Equator and Prime Meridian are a part of two hemispheres.. For a map and list of countries in both the Eastern and.

There are about 15 places called Sidney in the USA (Northern Hemisphere) and a couple in Canada (Northern Hemisphere). The city in Australia (Southern Hemisphere) is usually spelled Sydney.   A cyclone is a low pressure system of the atmosphere in which air pressure has dropped below the standard (normal) atmospheric pressure ( millibar or hectopascal, short-formed as mb or hpa) and winds rotate inward in a counter-clockwise direction in the northern hemisphere and clockwise direction in the southern hemisphere. In meteorological terms, any low-pressure system .

Air moces inward in a ciounterclockwise fashion until it reaches the eye wall. At that point the air moves in a circular fashion and begins to sprial upward, as it can no longer move inward.   Mr Buys-Ballot a Dutch Meteorologist discovered that if you Look in to the wind the Low pressure is on your Left. (Or on your right if you are in the Northern Hemisphere). Wind follows the isobars. In the Southern Hemisphere wind flows clockwise around the lows and anti-clockwise around the highs (and its the opposite in the Northern Hemisphere).

The free-air wind speeds at mountain-peak or ridge-crest heights were estimated using. The six global wind belts consist of three belts in the northern hemisphere and three in the southern hemisphere.

Each hemisphere has Tradewinds, Prevailing Westerlies, and Polar Easterlies. Because the Northern Hemisphere has more land area than the Southern Hemisphere it should also be noted that the majority of Earth's population and its largest cities are also in its northern half.

Some estimates say that the Northern Hemisphere is approximately % land, while the Southern half is only % land. The Northern Hemisphere includes all of North America, the northern reaches of South America, about two-thirds of Africa, all of Asia excluding (parts of Indonesia) and all of Europe.

The Southern Hemisphere includes most of South America, one-third of Africa, all of Antarctica, a small sliver of Asia (parts of Indonesia) and all of Australia/Oceania.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the Coriolis force, a which deflects to the right, gives hurricanes their signature counter-clockwise spin. but spin counter-clockwise. Because Earth rotates to the east, all free-moving objects such as wind, low-pressure areas, and hurricanes are deflected to the right of their path of motion in the Northern.

The rate of motion is considerably slower at low latitudes, with features in the tropics. Get this from a library. World weather maps. Part I, Northern Hemisphere sea level and millibar charts. [United States. Weather Bureau.; International Council of Scientific Unions.

The direction of deflection depends on the north-south direction of the wind in each hemisphere - from the pole towards the equator, or from the equator towards the pole, as shown in the. Get this from a library. Atmospheric humidity atlas, Northern hemisphere.

On the earth, this deflective force results from the earth's rotation and cases moving particle (including the wind) to deflect to the right in the northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere.

The wind field of a tropical cyclone may be divided into three regions. First is a ring-shaped outer region, typically having an outer radius of about km ( miles) and an inner radius of about 30 to 50 km (20 to 30 miles).

In this region the winds increase uniformly in speed toward the centre. The three major wind belts in each hemisphere are called the a) Trade winds, doldrums, and polar westerlies b) Trade winds, prevailing westerlies, and polar easterlies c) Doldrums, prevailing easterlies, and polar easterlies d) Doldrums, prevailing westerlies, and trade winds.

The Northern Hemisphere is the half of Earth that is north of the other planets in the Solar System, north is defined as being in the same celestial hemisphere relative to the invariable plane of the solar system as Earth's North Pole.

Owing to the Earth's axial tilt, winter in the Northern Hemisphere lasts from the December solstice (typically December 21 UTC) to the March.

Wind is the flow of gases on a large scale. On the surface of the Earth, wind consists of the bulk movement of outer space, solar wind is the movement of gases or charged particles from the Sun through space, while planetary wind is the outgassing of light chemical elements from a planet's atmosphere into space.

Winds are commonly classified by their spatial scale, their speed, the.
